This year's City of London Growing Localities Awards has proven to be a huge success with just shy of 100 entries from a huge range of community and voluntary-based organisations from around London. These displayed a wide variety of innovative and engaging activities led by motivated and dedicated individuals that are currently taking place across the capital, and successfully enhancing the lives of their participants and local communities.
Using nature to enhance and improve local communities and the lives of vulnerable or socially excluded people is an important issue, generating positive outcomes such as health and well-being, new skills and knowledge, new relationships, and a sense of purpose and belonging.
