Resilient Resettlement project started

Managing long-term community integration for ex-homeless people

After receiving great applications from homelessness organisation all over the country, together with the Tudor Trust, we have now successfully chosen twelve organisations which will receive funding from the trust. This money will enable formerly homeless people to make new connections within their local communities and to build stronger networks in order to live richer and more active lives, and to enhance long-term well-being.

In the coming weeks, these homelessness organisations will identify service users which have an interest in taking up a new hobby or community-based activity. As a second step, they will make contact and establish networks with keen community groups to ensure a positive response and welcome to ex-homeless people becoming involved. While receiving ‘buddying’ support, we hope that service users will be able to establish lasting and fruitful connections with the community groups that have offered to welcome them. For more information on the project, the organisations participating and the research that will come out of this project, please click here.
